I have nothing brilliant say today, so I will leave it to The Bard. Thirteen random quotes:
- Every why has a wherefore. The Comedy of Errors, II, i, 15
- Light seeking light doth light of light beguile. Love’s Labours Lost, I, i, 77
- For God’s sake, let us sit upon the ground
and tell sad stories of the death of kings: King Richard II, III, iii, 155 - For aught that I could ever read,
Could ever hear by tale or history,
The course of true love never did run smooth. A Midsummer-Night’s Dream, I, i, 132 - Swift as a shadow, short as any dream,
Brief as the lightning in the collied night,
That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth,
And ere a man hath power to say, “Behold!”
The jaws of darkness do devour it up:
So quick bright things come to confusion. A Midsummer-Night’s Dream, I, i, 144 - I am as melancholy as a gib cat, or a lugged bear. King Henry IV, Pt. 1, I, ii, 82
- I dote on his very absence. The Merchant of Venice, I,ii, 118.
- Friendship is constant in all other things
Save in the office and affairs of love:
Therefore all hearts in love use their own tongues;
Let every eye negotiate for itself
And trust no agent. Much Ado About Nothing, II, i, 184 - I am falser than vows made in wine. As You Like It, III, v, 73
- Journeys end in lovers meeting,
Every wise man’s son doth know. Twelfth Night, II, iii, 46 - If I must die,I will encounter darkness as a bride,
And hug it in my arms. Measure for Measure, III, i, 81 - O! A kiss
Long as my exile, sweet as my revenge! Coriolanus, V, iii, 44, - Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows. The Tempest, II, ii, 42

Okay, I have to say it: Shakespeare is awesome. Simply, irrefutably awesome. I’ve found so many of these quotes can apply to WIP, I’m getting inspired anew!
Thanks for sharing!
Happy TT!
Ciao…!
Love The Bard.
Much Ado About Nothing is one of my personal favorites.
Great post!
Great list! I love me some Shakespeare. 🙂 Happy Thursday! *hugs*
*happy sigh* I love this.
Oh, wow! I think I’ll just sit and read this post again.
Hugs!
This is an unusual and intriguing selection of quotes. Not your average cliche-fest, which quoting Shakespeare tends to turn into.
What? Nothing from Hamlet? That’s just not right! (Great list!)
Very cool! Love Shakespeare!
*hugs*

Wonderful quotes. I love the Bard (I referenced him in my TT, as well!).
A nice variety, too.
I like Shakespeare but I haven’t read him since my junior year in high school. Yes, that long ago. 🙂
Nice list.
Happy TT.

I think I’m going to be a lone voice. Shakespeare makes my head hurt. I’ve never liked his work since we were forced to study Hamlet at school. It would, however, be cool to do some time traveling and meet him. Maybe that would change my mind. 🙂
