I write to music, and I’ve always enjoyed listening to guitar music, but while writing Love Burns and exploring my hero Dave Knight’s character, he expanded my listening horizons, sharing his eclectic love of the guitar through Blues, Bluegrass, Country, Jazz, Classical, Flamenco, and Metal. Here’s a sampling of the playlist from Dave’s story:
- Dead End ~ Leo Kottke
- Classical Gas ~ Mason Williams
- Caminar Solo~ Ottmar Liebert
- Solemn Vespers ~ Christopher Parkening
- Perfect Moment ~ Peter White
- Nothing Else Matters ~ Metallica
- Blackberry Blossom ~ The Tony Rice Unit
- Riding with the King ~ BB King and Eric Clapton
- She Just Wants to Dance ~ Keb’ Mo’
- Dueling Guitars ~ Heitor Pereira and Doug Smith / August Rush Soundtrack
- Hook ~ Blues Traveler
- My Guitar Lies Bleeding in My Arms ~ Bon Jovi
- Bad Love ~ Eric Clapton

Awesome sounds!!! I really like Keb Mo’! And the other ones are great.
Great stuff! Thank you for sharing.
I’ve never heard any of those! LOL!

Thank you for the playlist! There are a lot of songs I don’t recognize by name or artist, but do by sound.
What a cool idea! I love how you have the playlist as part of it, so we can listen to what Dave likes. 🙂
Happy TT!
Thanks. I am listening to them all now. Happy St Patty’s Day!
Thanmks for the great playlist! I also enjoy guitar music. For me, for writing it has to be acoustic, with no vocals. Otherwise I get so caught up in the lyrics I lose track of my scene!
Ohhh, yeah… Just lay some Clapton on me! One of the best concerts I ever saw, without a doubt.
Good stuff in that list, though – some of which I play, too, fairly regularly. 🙂
Leo Kottke has awesomeness in his veins! Good music choices to write to!
