A humble object. Old, well-used, and worn around the edges.
What does it hold for you?
Writing Prompt: Write a scene around a box. Use this box or a box of your own choosing.
Think about — Box, chest, trunk or case? What is, or was, kept in it? Where was the box kept. Who owned it and why? Who wanted it and why? Was it lost or stolen or hidden and how? Who lost, stole or hid it and why? Is it locked? Is there a key? What is it made of? For fantasy/paranormal stories, are there any spells, curses, powers or prophecies involved?
Do you have a favorite box?
On my dresser is a small round box of Bermuda cedar that holds happy memories of visiting my mom and stepfather on that island.

What a great way to get the creative juices flowing. I know what’s in the box for me – Gambit!!
