I was tickled to hear yesterday that my Deeper Than Bone placed with an Honorable Mention in the New Jersey Romance Writer’s Put Your Heart in a Book contest.
Best wishes to all the finalists!

I’m participating in Excerpt Monday, organized by the lovely Bria Quinlan and Mel Berthier from Romance Divas.
Today’s excerpt comes from Chapter One of my fantasy/paranormal romance Deeper Than Bone.

Mood: Encouraged
I’ve been making very good progress on Missing Magic over the weekend. I should be able to finish Missing Magic and reach the 60k in word count without a problem, but the word count will be split between the two stories. I need to decide which direction to take DTB. Once I finish this draft of Missing Magic I should be able to dig back into DTB without feeling guilty for not working on MM.
Mood: Up and down.
Well, DTB, which is supposed to be the story I complete in MIHC remains at a dead standstill, while Missing Magic, the story I didn’t think I could finish is three and a half chapters from being a complete draft. I blasted through a few stuck chapters and filled in holes in others. I’ve done over 20k words towards MM since April 3.
So should I completely switch focus off DTB for this challenge to MM. Or if I do both? That would put me a little over 31k for word count at the moment.
